At the Hunkeler Innovation Days, Zaikio shows how Mission Control makes connected production easy

There was plenty to see for the numerous visitors to the Zaikio booth at the Hunkeler Innovation Days from February 27 to March 2, 2023 in Lucerne: The new Zaikio Mission Control app brings full transparency to the processes in a print shop. The live demo also gave a first glimpse of the extensive connectivity with various partners in the industry that Zaikio is gradually building. Zaikio can already be used to automatically exchange data with software from suppliers such as Impressed, Calibrate and HEIDELBERG. Many more vendors will present their respective Zaikio integrations in the coming months.

Live demonstration of the job lifecycle
At the Hunkeler Innovation Days, the Zaikio team gave a live demo of a job cycle involving a Web2Print shop, an MIS and a prepress workflow system. The order data is entered via the Web2Print shop and the MIS. The relevant data then automatically appears in the workflow system - and is immediately available for further processing by any connected system. This makes it easier for printers to exchange job data along the different steps of production without the need for costly custom integration projects. This significantly speeds up turnaround times. Zaikio Mission Control also shows where each job is at any given time and if there is anything holding up the process.

Production transparency with Mission Control
Zaikio Mission Control gives printers a complete overview of all their jobs, worksteps and machines, regardless of manufacturer. Provided the other systems are connected to Zaikio, printers can see all the steps in the job lifecycle, from the first customer contact to the finished products waiting for delivery. This also helps to identify production bottlenecks, enabling printers to reduce costs and improve their bottom line.

Just six weeks after ZaiCon
The presentation at the Hunkeler Innovation Days follows Zaikio's partner conference ZaiCon in Frankfurt am Main in January. There, more than 120 participants from nearly 50 companies in the print shop software industry discussed better data-driven collaboration.

These Zaikio integrations are already available for testing and demos:

Keyline
The Print Management Software or MIS is often the first system in which job data is available. Because Keyline is seamlessly integrated with Zaikio, all other connected systems can easily access the relevant job data.

Calibrate Importer
Even if the specific software containing the required job data is not (yet) integrated with Zaikio, the Calibrate Importer can create the jobs directly and automatically in Zaikio, so that other systems can take it from there. The Calibrate Importer accepts a wide range of standard formats, such as XML, in conjunction with the appropriate templates, such as WMD, JDF, etc.

Impressed Workflow Server
This pre-press workflow solution receives data from web shops, MIS and other sources and ensures that all production files are processed according to specifications. Impressed Workflow Server sends job data directly to Mission Control. From there, it can be processed by other systems.

Prinect
The Heidelberg Prinect workflow can retrieve relevant job information directly from Zaikio, and thus from any print shop software. This makes individual integration projects redundant.
